Video: Nokia C7 Clone – With S^3 esque UI

| March 20, 2011 | 23 Replies

Buyers beware – it’s a Nokia C7 clone, one of many Nokia clones flooding the market.

It’s a bit worrying that the clone has better animation/transitions than the real C7.

The Symbian(^3) UI is faithfully cloned, s^3 menu and dialler, widgetized multiple home screen, s^1 style keyboard. The screen is also some how multitouch. That’s quite a bit of luxury for a clone. The box even comes with Nokia looking accessories – supposedly BL-5K battery, usb cable and headphones.

I highly doubt this phone will be easily available in India and in rural area people won’t be able to judge the difference.

    • Rags says:

Very true, and that unfortunately contributes to the market share loss as well, by a small amount at least.

I’m not an iOS user, but from the very looks of it, even a layman on the street can tell the difference between the Apple-made OS and a Chinese made clone. Here, on the other hand, the original OS and fake are almost similar, in speed and performance. I still can’t digest why at times my N8 just likes to freeze and get choppy between transitions.

well it shows that there is something really wrong at nokia, if it was not a sabotage from outside for the this elop to take over and sell Nokia to some western country then i don’t understand. cos Nokia has the money the resources to do a good UI and UX for the symbian OS, because in all terms when you look at the Symbian OS even look at the S40 OS they have very good features and runs very well.Speaking from an Iphone and Adroid user. I own a Nokia 5800,N900, C7, I have google Nexus 1, and a jailbroken Iphone 4. with 4.2.1 OS with a 1.5… baseband. In all these mobile devices they have been hyped to these level by virtually shouting down Symbian in the eyes of users before they can even count it as some thing they can look up to.Then from no where we heard that Elop has come in and also going towards WP7 when all Nokia needed was to get Meego out and then work it tru marketing to make it popular.

    • Andre says:

Rofl…. if they have the money and the resources, where is this UI??

      • deep space bar says:

3 guys worked on 3 different UIs using Qt

an iOS type looking,AndroidOS type and WebOS type in one month

they needed somthing from all 3 of these OSs so they can strike the US market with sheer force that’s why it’s taking so long and as well the symbian foundation was doing jack shit

        • Andre says:

That’s nice and all but can I has proof? :)

You see it’s all nice to say that there was tons of work being done, even better if it worked better than anything else out there but until I see proof of it being implemented in the public sphere and being shipped on devices it means absolutely nothing to me.

          And I doubt you’ll disagree.

Not shipping or no definitive plans to ship = fail

        • Rant says:

LOL, why an iOS one AND an Android one. Their both the same. :P

      • jay says:

you dont understand that the company doesnt think about investing alot for a new ui if its much easier to make the same money while using WP7 now..

  3. Rant says:

That they even copied the lack of portait QWERTY, those are some very good KIRF’er. :P

  4. pep says:

wow nice and faster transitions than the original!

  5. lifebloger says:

They have to stop with their awful nails !!!
    Berk!!!!

  6. Emmanuel says:

Be carefull some of these pieces of crap are sometimes sold on ebay in Europe

  7. Emmanuel says:

Ha ha they even copied the silly portrait keyboard !!

But they still have the multi touch…

  8. aboodesta says:

its funny how the transitions look smoother than the original :P haha

  9. Rags says:

As fake as it can be, the UI’s transition effects are better than the original S^3′s in some places.

  10. Marvin says:

Are you sure it’s not just a version of C7 for the Chinese market?

  11. Marvin says:

BTW, KIRFers can be very good if they want to, they can make not only some ass-ugly NOKLA or CiFone with 60 MHz proc and LG firmware from the 90s, there can also be monstrous builds with 1GHz CPU, Android, GPS, normal BT, and 32GB memory card support (card itself included).

It depends how much are you willing to pay for it. Not everything from China is crap, you just can’t buy gold at the price of shit, even if it comes from China.

  12. David says:

    Hi,

I bought that C7 clone last week and I know it only a clone but I bought that in 20% cost of the real C7; when it will be broke (and i broke them all the times) it will hearth less.

What I want to do and didn’t find any way is to synchronize it with Outlook.
I will appreciate if you can give me a hand here.
    tx,
