My Dream Nokia #22: Symbian^3 Nokia Phone Concept

| March 28, 2011 | 20 Replies

My Dream Nokia #22 comes from shihuzaan who brings a new concept: the N18 featuring:

  • Symbian^3
  • Dual-core 1Ghz , PowerVR SGX540 GPU
  • 512 RAM
  • 480 x 800 pixels, 4.0 inches
  • Gorilla Glass display (CBD AMOLED)
  • 3.5mm jack
  • internal 16 GB, external 64 GB
  • 8mp Carl Zeiss (autofocus), 1/1.83” sensor size, ND filter, geo-tagging, face detection
  • 1080p @30fps
  • capacitive multi-touch screen
  • Anodized Aluminum casing
  • NFC (Near Field Communication)

Pretty much standard features but very welcome should we see this in a Nokia Symbian Phone. I mean, just 800X480 makes a world of difference in browsing for me over 640×360. I know many of you don’t mind or even notice the difference.

You can see in the gallery below that it’s bottom heavy. A little reminiscent of that Nokia Kinetic Design.

About “My Dream Nokia”

I’m sure you’ve dreamt up your PERFECT Nokia device. What it would look like, what it would feel like, what features it would have. Why don’t you share it with the world? Or at least with other Nokia fans :D .

It could be your own photoshopped or rendered work (seriously, you don’t need mega skills in either, basic paint job is often enough to convey a concept) of your dream product.

SEND this in similarly to with the title “My Dream Nokia” and perhaps the model number (and a little description, maybe a few specs in the message area? Though this bit not necessary).

Who knows, maybe an image might flutter over to Nokia and through whatever route end up being real.

  • GT

CPU – ST Ericsson U8500 or TI OMAP 4
    RAM – 768~1GB
    Screen – qHD or better
Battery – at least 1600mah (removable)
    Loud stereo speakers.

  • SAED

i hope nokia add touch focus in camera

  • poiman

I don’t like its fat ass!

  • Gary H

The big speaker off the X1-00 combined with stereo satellites. Big sound during the day, with ultra quiet night time listening. Quality camera with xenon and low grade LED flashlight. Large resistive touch screen with ultra comfortable number pad. Retro + Modern = fast usable phone

    • outdated os

you do know that “some people” out there won’t touch a resistive touchscreen with a 10ft pole, eh?

      • Gary H

The latest resistive screens are very good at taps and swipes, and for text, use the number pad. I think affluent market customers mistakenly believe that pretty on screen animations must mean they are being more productive, when of course you aren’t really doing any work watching the screen fill out with graphics.

        We need a race….

Also, capacitive screens need power all the time to work. Resistive screens only make that connection when pressed down. Less processing?

I would be happy with ST Ericsson U4500 clocked at 600MHz with 1500mAh Li-Polymer removable with CBD qHD at 4″.

  • 352×416

The specs of the Dream Nokia #22 is entirely possible today with off the shelf components.

  • syed

There was an article not long ago comprihg bcm2727 vs sgx540 and it showed n8 edging sgs!
so stop complaining about arm11 at least nokia paired it with one of the most powerful gpu of 2010!

  • MontyN95

A nuclear battery will be required to make this even last a day!!

  • gLA

…definitely inspired by the latest aava design (I wish aava produced mass-marked phones…)
