A couple of weeks back, one of our readers spotted a Pink Nokia N8 on a reputable Swedish online store.

Today, jvardon tips us (tips@mynokiablog.com/mynokiablog.com/tips) that now Amazon is confirming the pink Nokia N8. Lo and behold, yes there it is listed as out of stock.

Also, check out the green Nokia N8. $349.99! That’s just £208 (direct conversion). It’s still £350 here (that’s a price drop already from £429), putting it past the original amazon.com price at launch.

Does a pink N8 interest you? Do you know someone who’d want one? I think we should have an event for the launch of the pink N8. Huge fanfare, street parties and everything. All the news outlets would be going crazy with this breaking news. No? It’s just the same phone in a different colour. I see. Don’t let jobs and co hear that. Imagine iPhone was also to come in Pink. I think more fuss would be made about a pink iPhone than if a mighty being came down from above to announce the end of the world.

And whilst I’m ranting on about the white iPhone. Why did it take so long to launch? It was there on announcement (unlike this Pink N8, which BTW, we’ve had 5 colours from the beginning even if they were limited availability in areas). According to Apple, it’s not just about changing the colour.

“It’s not as simple as making something white. There’s a lot more that goes into both the material science of it–how it holds up over time… but also in how it all works with the sensors”.

Science. Of course. New colour totally changes all the internal properties of the phone! Pink Nokia N8 will kinda do that, most likely coming with Symbian Anna/PR2.0.
