This news just came in via TheNextWeb, Nokia apparantly lost one big asset in the form of Tommi Laine-Ylijoki, the former VP of Materials.

What Tommi exactly did at Nokia is probably a bit of a mystery to most of us, however one can guess what his day to day operations consisted of.  As far as information goes his job consisted of  seeing the supply chain ran smoothly and maintaining contacts with suppliers.

With the departure of Laine-Ylijoki there is also a departure of 17 years of knowledge, 17 years of knowledge that is going to the competition. Nokia does have more than 1 person in charge of these kind of things, but it is worrying though that someone at this level is leaving. Could it be an indicator of things to come? Or is it just because Sony Ericsson made him a better offer?

We won’t know, but we do know Nokia is bleeding talent. This is not the first person of this kind of stature to leave.
