Nokia wins in Apple patent war, a bit at least

If you’ve been following the whole patent wars over the past couple of months you might remember Apple that was sueing a lot of other companies and in turn Apple was sued by those same companies for different things.
One of the bigger lawsuits was one between Nokia and Apple, more info can be found here and here.

The last news we received about the whole case was that Apple had ‘won’ the dispute about 5 Nokia patents that weren’t infringed by Apple. It appeared that, that was it for Nokia for those patents, but the ITC has agreed to reexamine 2 of those 5 patents. One is about optimized camera sensors for a mobile phone and the other is about the design and construction of antenna’s in the small space that is a mobile phone.

While there is no real end to the entire case in sight within the next few years this is however good for Nokia. Getting recognition for their work and especially in an area that is Nokia’s forte. After all, Nokia is still the biggest manufacturer of digital camera’s and most certainly the benchmark for camera’s in mobile phones.
