higher specs means higher price, power hungry.
if you want that buy android.
    why do you still complaining?
they can release meego 1.3 and n9 succesor with higher tech.
nokia need to gain its marketshare.
meego and symbian made for efficiency on minimum hardware.
    then lower price.

    nokia :
great build quality, durable, clear voice, efficient. means, FUTURE (low hardware running eficien os bring rich function on great build quality device)

    else :
plastic built, fluid ui, high hardware requirment, power hungry. means,TOY.

nokia have a vision to connecting people, apple connecting people to them.

  2. Shriek says:

Man i love it, now i need to hunt around and find which GSM provider gives a microsim in India. Does anyone have any idea which provider in india gives microsim. I love this device, i dont use the “ecosystem” too much i just need a phone that can do most of it work by itself without an app. I need a decent camera too, so once i read a couple of reviews and see same sample pics, N9 here i come

    • rahul says:

just check on with your costumer care, they’ll provide u with a micro sim.
      rim, voda, airtel, aircel r d 1′s i noe!!

    • Shankey says:

Hi dude.. Am also from India. You can get MicroSIMs from all GSM providers. But you have to pay around Rs 200 extra. Thats how all those iPhones imported into India work…

  3. NsrS says:

    Meego – Fail

  4. Krzysiek says:

    Where is dual core CPU?
Where is at least qHD screen?
Nokia disappointed me one more time

  5. VkThor says:

I have a question… I see no signs of any Flash support for the browser in both N9 & N950. Is it coming with full flash support like N900 or will we have a step backwards in this? HTML5 is fine, but a lot of sites are still running over flash apps.

  6. chester says:

At last Nokia is releasing my phone,

I will definately buy this N9,

    Waiting is over,

NOKIA,it doesn’t matter if u don’t release another Meego phone soon, just get this N9 device on the market for me please,

N9 is a simple pocket computer that will not let me down,

& till we get the Nokia morph, this N9 will keep me busy 4 sure.

    Meego rocks!

  7. Raj says:

Wow Disappointed.I currenly owned N8 and was looking forward to N9 but some of specs are kind of outdated. No HDMI, BT 3, USB OTG, Flash, Mini SIM card instead of Regular, NO slot for Micro SD card, FM Transmitter. These features are important to me and was looking for to have them in N9 but This huge down for me. I guess I just have to wait and what Nokia’s first WP7 handset have to offer before deciding my mind.

  8. miemie says:

I’m definitely going to buy one. Most propably the black one.

And now I’ll have to start developing a game with Qt… I already have an idea for a game with some retro 3D stuff.

  9. RedMateria says:

I think it’s not using a microSIM watch this video @ youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zjYfQcJQ_Y

you can see when he pull’s out the sim tray out of the phone, it is bigger than a microSIM.

    I’m not sure about that.

  10. Julius says:

Have they said when it is coming out? Jay, do you know?

  11. IK says:

N9 does look beautiful and UI also looks awesome – Nokia have done a great job with it. BUT I got used to the HW keyboard on the N900 and not sure I could go back to a device that doesnt have it. Will have to try the N9 in the shops and see what it is like but so far I’d say no to it on that basis. Just my opinion, dont expect many people to agree with me.

  12. nokiaguy says:

The dilemma for N900 people is that this ‘phone has a Gig of RAM, not 256k. It runs 20 apps without even breathing hard. It is much, much, faster. The screen is bigger and smoother and more touch responsive. The browser is very nice etc. But, as said by some, no flash, at least yet, no keyboard obviously (although, I used Swype and it is very good). No FM radio or transmitter, only useful for very few folks. Currently, the lack of apps like an e-Reader make it look less useful than an N900. However, if you realise that many of the best N900 apps will get ported, especially Qt ones, I would expect things like eCoach and Dorian. Augmented reality mapping, like Layars should become available (the N9 has a compass that enables this). The maps are improved a lot over N900 with the ability to download maps on the device making it even better than before and ridiculously better than using google maps outside your own unlimited data areas; one can even do local searches withou a data connection (like Symbian Maps does but not the N900). The Drive app gives a specific, superior car navigation system taylored to driving whilst walking navigation stays within the Maps app for instance (and updates as you go). Voices, etc. can be downloaded by the device. Of course, the N9 is also sleeker and more attractive, easier to put in the pocket etc. So, you might miss certain things about the N900 but the N9 may well make you not care too much.

  13. Cod3rror says:

I have to say I like the design, although I’d have preferred the screen not being oval.

The internal hardware though is not that great, 2010 hardware. And the GPU is from 2009, N900 has the same GPU, which makes me think that they just overclocked the N900 chipset.

Software is a big question mark, having no homescreen feels very weird and makes the OS look very basic.

    Overall, I won’t make a judgment yet.

  14. pchees says:

Is this definately going be the one and only Meego/Harmattan device that will be produced? Or are they planning to knock one out every year?

  15. Jorge Arturo says:

Did not Elop decided to leave on a side MeeGo because it will take too long to release a phone?

  16. Julius says:

What can I say? I was worrying til the end… Been waiting for this since september last year, so last night it felt like waiting for christmas and at the same time knowing that it could just end up being another shitty tuesday together with Mary and S40. But they did it. They actually did it. Sure, the screen could have been even better, but would I want to pay the price in shorter battery life? Of course not. USB on the go would be awesome, but it’s not a dealbreaker. It’s the closest thing to the perfect phone we’re gonna get in a very long time.

  17. scapegoat81 says:

Ya know, i was about to jump ship to an iPhone 4, but wanted to wait for this bad boy to show up & glad i did. I think that the software that runs on the “outdated hardware”, makes up for it.(Been reading a lot of people bitchin’ about the hardware). Spec for spec, it’s not that much different from the iPhone, & i truly believe that this N9 would hold it’s own against it & any other high-end device on the market today. Wanted to wait for reviews after release, but i’ll prob end up pre-ordering…. :-D

  18. BertRulz says:

Anyone else thinking we will see the exact same phone with a windows operating system in the next few months? I must say the dull hardware does remind me of a windows phone (apart from the screen).

  19. daejung says:

No FM radio nor FM transmitter on N9 ? N8 had them

Too bad no front camera too

  20. Does Nokia N9 supports video calling in Skype application.
Because it says it’s inbuilt app.
