Just a quick poll for the readers out there. Now that you’ve seen the N9 in all its polycarbonate and glass glory, the all important question remains; will you get one!?!

When the N900 was announced, FM radio n FM transmitter was not featured too.. Nokia decided to hide these radios deep inside. Alas, developers was informed n programs/apps./widgets were developed to make use of these hidden features.. Heres to hoping the same thing is happening to the N9. Don’t underestimate the true power of open source.

The best designed phone on this planet, so far.

  3. Gena SuperMan says:

    definitely I am getting one!!!

  4. yoyo says:

If even vlad(nokiatroll 5000) from engadget says it is awesome, than this baby must be a killer that is going to empty my wallet and fill my pocket!

  5. Cod3rror says:

    Not a chance.

Even though I like the design, the OS on it is already extinct. Nokia will not support it, third party devs won’t support it.

And I highly doubt this phone will do everything I need from the box.

So yes, not buying this. Nice try though Nokia.

Just GTFO the blog and go suck some droid device

    • Real Phonee says:

So what do you do with a phone right out of the box?

    • Viipottaja says:

Nokia told reporters in Finland that the plan is to have the N9 in the market “for a long time”, so if that’s true, I would expect support for it from Nokia for at least 2 years.

    • akse says:

I know many apps in symbian^3 already that would probably easily compile on Meego (N9) because of Qt.

This thing is so epic it will live forever. People want that thing after ten years. It’s iconic, unique, one of a kind. The unicorn of industrial design.

I’m definitely getting it; if it’s the last one, it’s even more valuable.

    • Jon says:

Polycarbonate allows a unibody design, aluminium doesn’t. Radio signals don’t travel well trough metal, which is why the N8 and E7 have plastic caps. Polycarbonate also has higher impact resistance than aluminium. As for the HDMI and camera, one wasn’t included because the GPU doesn’t support it, while the other wasn’t included because there was no room.

On the other hand you get a much better screen, form-factor and processor.

      • JasonFeucht says:

Radio signals travel absolutely fine through many metals. Just dont make your phone out of steel, copper, silver or gold (and a few others) and you will be fine.

no, nokia have not raised the bar, and in short are trying to fleece us.

they are selling new software on very old hardware.

even the outer case is only plastic.

the n8 is more powerful, has more features, and is encased in a sexy metal body.

  8. Real Phonee says:

I am definitely getting this device…. I have held on to the Nokia 5800 cause so far I wasn’t satisfied with anything Nokia brought out but I am going to get this device…. All who say it has short comings, then too bad for you, wait for something that has everything you want. As for me, this has everything that I want…. A great camera, social network integration, and Angry Birds, what more do you want? I don’t have a High Def. TV so I don’t need HDMI, I don’t listen to radio so I don’t need a FM Transmitter and I am glad I don’t have to press and hold a stupid menu button to bring up multi-tasking…. I LOVE IT!!!

  9. FireDragon says:

Hmm, Strong chances that I will yes. But if theres an optional device with keyboard I will jump to that. I am reading next about the detail of features but just wanted to know if this has USB on the GO?

  10. chfyfx says:

according to gsmarena, it will have HDMI, USB on the go and MicroSD card slot

  11. jedibeeftrix says:

    Will i be getting one?

    Yes.

I am a Meego fan, not a Nokia fan per-se.

  12. akse says:

I would love to have it but already bought N8 cause I wanted a phone instead of a computer (N900) :)

  13. robert says:

it depends, in my view n9 is not out. It is just announced. So when will it be in hands of ….
In apple marketing that would be next monday.
That would then be a yes for me, just for the holiday season, where i can use a mapping solution on a phone.
but if it takes another couple of months before it is out (meaning available), then we will see what are the options.
