“Nokia brand to Disappear in 2012, HTC potential buyer” -_-
Let me get back up off my chair. Douglas A. McIntyre has written a piece published on yahoo news (provided by 247wallst) of 10 brands that will disappear in 2012. Number 10? Nokia.
He suggests it’s prime target for a take over. Here’s the punch line.
“Potential buyers would start with HTC, the fourth largest smartphone maker in the world.”
I wonder who his source is? Is it “that” guy that keeps saying Nokia will disappear and will be bought out by Microsoft and thinks the N9 is horrible despite the response of well a lot of the major tech media that is usually not fond of Nokia?
Other buyers listed include, Samsung and LG (and the aforementioned MS). Well, that’s before my grandmother makes a bid for Nokia. If they’re not buying Nokia, they may just buy Sony Ericsson, placed number 6.
Chris Ziegler (ex engadget editor, now part of the new emerging ThisIsMyNext) sums it all up (and he’s how I found this ‘story’)
Nokia’s shown with the N9 they’ve got what it takes to please, meet and exceed expectations. The new strategy is only just going to be played out in October, and 2012 is when phoenix rises out of the burning platform. N9 is a symbol of Nokia’s potential. It’s just a hint. Folks are making predictions based on past mistakes, but well, Nokia has learned and has shown with the N9 they’ve learned. 2012, they’ll show the doubters a thing or two. This NokiaFanboy hopes anyways :p

All I can say is LOL, LAUGHING OUT LAUD:D
hahahaha – never! big LOL
wha a load of rubbish
The sheer amount of crap some of these people that call themselves journalist write frightens me a LOT !!!!
What complete utter nonsense
the Earth brand to disappear in 2012, Mars Corp. a potential buyer.
Hahahahahaah ROFLMAO
I was wondering what happened to Chris Ziegler. He just disappeared off of engadget. He was prolly one of the most objective and respected tech bloggers out there. When he left, the quality of engadget’s articles seemed to detoriate afterwards.
ThisIsMyNext is a great blog. The articles are really good and less trolling ‘engadget’ style comments. A lot of the engadget staff left and are there.
I checked it and man the whole old staff is there. Apparently the site is temporary until they get their SB Nation-backed site up in the fall (I guess nobody really can stand AOL).
Randomly enough, I saw Andre’s comment there and I think Cod3error sounds more excited than Andre about the n9. He’ll change his mind after using one.
cod3rror is becoming a celebrity, wow i guess trolling does work
I am excited about it, but it’s a tempered excited
Agreed. Chris Ziegler was the only objective engadget bloggers; esp towards Nokia. Time to tune into ThisIsMyNext
Really? On the contrary, since they left I feel the pro-Apple/US bias of Engadget has gone down.
I really don’t have much appreciation for Engadget’s old staff, they wanted all the glory of journalism without its hard work… like double cheking information, providing context, non-biased reports etc etc.
However I have to admit that Ziegler was the best of the bunch. Topolsky, on the other hand, was just an Apple PR photocopier. Stern and June were more like the pets of the team
…Lol?
Also, to double the lol, the ad I saw above these comments was “Nokia N9. The first MeeGo phone”.
When there is any Nokia news released, there always has rumors everywhere.
Well, someone told me once not to laugh about the unknown, but.. well, let me ad an exception in here…
LOL
LOOOL I guess HTC want to up their shitty cameras.
It’s all BS. Nokia is a giant. Really, they’re HUGE. They’re still really big in many third world countries and after seeing the potential they have (Look at N9 hardware and MeeGo UI and Camera optics capability -N8 is just a fraction of it), they will most likely grow in North America and gain back their old position in Europe too with the Nokia- Microsoft collaboration.
I doubt HTC has enough money to even think about buying Nokia. And with all the future planned out, I doubt Nokia would put themselves up for sale.
I think *Epic Fail* would fit…
Nokia will disappear in 2012. Potential buyer Chevrolet. CMOOON!
That face scares me…
trollface
It freaks me out to the extent that I’ve Adblocked it!
Must be written by Apple employed bloger

Hilariously Meego or Harmattan hasn’t even been properly reviewed and that poll is up… -__-
Not saying I don’t like it, from what I’ve seen, it’s my dream OS.
No, I’m not the author of that article.
People don’t give Nokia due credit. They technically created and dominated the smartphone market and have huge assets. It’s not going to just go down like that. I expect it to become number one again. It might take years, but if there’s a company that can do it, it’s Nokia.
I agree, and anyway I’m going to buy Nokia in 2012, I’m saving/counting my pennies now!
Hey guys, i’ve decided to buy nokia with troll face above. Anybody wants to join me? I’ll let you’ll sit at my round table. Anyone who joins gets a free N9 with 360 speakers made of gold and diamonds!
Who knows? When the WP7 experiment ends in abject failure, anything can happen…
Do u think Nokia will return by MS produce crappy WP7? I don’t think so. Elop’s Nokia isn’t now a innovative company, yap once upon time Nokia was the most innovative company.
