Nokia 3D World Gaze (Experimental app at Nokia Beta Labs) demoed on Nokia N8
Something new for us to try. This is an experimental app from Nokia Beta Labs called 3D World Gaze. It’s an augmented reality type app that lets you see ‘through’ the earth and entire planet below. You can get a wider planet view and see geotagged photos.
Get it from Nokia Beta Labs http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-3d-world-gaze
There’s even more info about this app at Nokia Conversations: http://conversations.nokia.com/2011/07/04/the-world-in-your-hands-with-nokia-3d-world-gaze/
Have you ever considered that the Earth is a giant sphere and you are always on top of it? And that far-away continents and cities are in reality somewhere below you?
Nokia 3D World Gaze gives you a new kind of viewpoint to the world, allowing you to see through the surface (and insides) of the planet all the way to the other side. Just point your phone to some direction and you will see reality in a way you have never seen before. In addition to geographical features such as continents in their real physical locations, Nokia 3D World Gaze allows you to see geotagged media, day and night regions, current location of the Sun, and other content from locations around the world.
The application is targeted to anyone interested in exploring and learning new things about the world around us. It provides a serendipitous view of the world and can be used anywhere on the planet. In fact, we encourage you to try it while traveling abroad: the world looks surprisingly different depending on where you are viewing it from.
Cheers for the tip, Jim and Anuj!

DOWNLOADINGGG
using it right now, amazing.
Looks like a fun app though not much useful in terms of real life implications =(
I would rather they put more effort into developing Social 1.4
WHAAAAAAAAAAA I AM GETTING REALLY MAD
Why does everybode, truely EVERYBODY assume, that Nokia has an army of interchangable develloppers that they can just send to fulfil some chosen task. There are groups, dedications, specializations and so forth.
Be happy with what you get. You can’t simply shift resources. Only add and thats a time consuming process.
+1000000
they still should have worked harder on Social….and that’s no lie they have Qt and could have done a way better job….just saying cause look at the kosuvups and 4squares Qt apps how amazing they look…nokia should and could have made something that amazing but they fucked up
+1
