Jori emailed us to say that JoikuSpot – an application that turns your phone into a wifi hotspot, is going to be integrated into some Nokia phones, present and upcoming.

E6: JoikuSpot Premium globally

N9 (Meego phone): JoikuSpot Premium (branded Mobile WiFi HotSpot) globally

X7: JoikuSpot Premium in select markets

E7: JoikuSpot Light as part of the Symbian Anna factory firmware update; globally

E52, E5. E72: Get JoikuSpot Premium for FREE from OVI right now with your phone OVI client as a gift! ; globally

Additionally, we have just added support for the new phone models 702T, ORO, Nokia 500 and T7.

I love this app. Tethering via cable is insanely useful for me when the internet is down, or just when I’m away from WiFi. Even better though is wireless tethering, turning my N900 or N8 into a hotspot. This way I can use multiple devices  too. You can use a passcode to prevent others leeching your WiFi (as I found in some lectures when some macbooks and some iPhones started using my N900 as WiFi source…well I couldn’t get passcode working then, but it works great now on S^3)

For the price, it looks a touch expensive (8GBP) but like Gravity, since you’d use it so much, it’s well worth the price.
