Nokia 701 RM-744 Pics from ANATEL? Or fake?
We received a document on Saturday from a reader named Harry Stefano, who said that this is from ANATEL (Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações) which Harry says is like the FCC where all new phones require Anatel authorisation.
This is supposedly the Nokia 701, aka Helen, rumoured to be the Nokia C7 successor. However, it looks exactly like the Nokia C7.
The authenticity of the document is a concern. Apart from being identical to the C7 itself, the usual inside label looks fake. I mean, I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be just copied and pasted on digitally, but this is NOT a photograph of that tag.
Something else a little odd is that the dash/”-” is stuck to the M in RM. I’ve not seen that before. You might say the K and I look strange but that’s exactly the same as the official FCC ID label. BTW here’s a real FCC ID label.
However, Harry says the document can be found at ANATEL.

I tried to have a look but I was getting errors past page 10. If it’s there, then this may just be the Nokia 701. There’s no problem if it does look identical to the C7. It’s a good design. But we’re just not sure this is real.

Could just be a C7 for Brazil?
Why another C7 for Brazil?
Maybe its a C7-00 with a 1GHz processor. And because they changed the naming scheme, C7-01 should now be 701.
AnnaTel?=AnnaFake…Chinese hit!
I’ve found the entry on Anatel’s website. The C7-00 pics also have “fake” labels, so the 701 seems to really exist. (Even though it’s strange to launch a phone that looks exactly the same as its predecessor)
To find the pics, go to the page found on the post and:
1. Insert 1327-11-1547 in the field “Nº Homologação:”
2. Click on the button “Confirmar” (bottom of the page)
3. Click “OK”
4. A table will appear in the page, now click the image in the “Arquivo” column.
5. On the new window, click “Fotos Externas” to open a pdf with the pics.
To look at N8-00 and C7-00 entries, insert the following numbers in step 1:
N8: 1025-10-1547
C7: 1976-10-1547
strange? what about iphones?
i know there is/was a proto identical to C7 but with brushed aluminium and 1ghz cpu instead. however, i also heard that this may not be the design that will be used for 701 in the end. it may also be another design that i have also seen. so, not quite sure and we’ll see on the 24th.
I am pretty sure
Lol clearly photoshopped. Well, maybe not so clearly for many, but it is for those of us in graphic design. The biggest giveaway is the difference in quality in parts of some of the photos vis a vis other parts of the same photo.
It’s photoshopped but sadly i doubt the actually used photoshop to do it. It’s so bad it could have been done with MS Paint.
It looks so photoshopped! It’s a mahogany C7 and I very much doubt Nokia will reuse old designs for phones that will carry the new naming scheme esp. if we’re to go by Nokia 500.
I don’t think it’s fake :O
Helen (Nokia 701)

“- Successor to C7″
I think it’s just C7 with 1GHz processor
As design goes… If ain’t broke, don’t fix
Nokia 701 exists apparently, but these particular photos are fake.
no my frnz……this is the real 701 code name Helen…..powered by symbian belle. nd 1ghz cpu……this is a successor of popular Nokia c7…..
but this time coming with brightest display of today……..a CBD IPS LCD unit not amoled ……1000 nits…….
hardware accelerated GPU …….
nd NFC ……..
It’s not a fake. And the photos are real. This model will have symbian belle, because of the references in the manual.
it’s not fake, the manual is up at the very same wesite, as well as the nokia N9 manual in portuguese.
Any link to the manual?

The link to the Manual is on the last row of the table.
Note: the links in Anatel’s website aren’t working on Google Chrome for me. (but they work well in Firefox and IE)
ANATEL is Telecommunications National Agency, from Brazilian government
anatel is the Brazilian counterpart to FCC in Usa or Ofcom in Uk. Every phone has to be submitted for approval in order to be sold in Brazil.
