Nokia N9 at Carphone Warehouse’s Mobiles.co.uk store

| August 24, 2011 | 23 Replies

A Carphone Warehouse (UK, and Europe’s's largest Mobile phone retailer) owned online retailer, mobiles.co.uk, has a coming soon page for the Nokia N9. They offer pay and go, sim free as well as subsidized phones on contract.

http://www.mobiles.co.uk/nokia-n9.html

I hope there’s some possibility for getting this on a contract for folks interested in getting their phones ‘cheaper’ through subsidy (contract price does become more expensive than just the phone, but if you call/text/use data, it sort of pays for itself, or at least pays towards cost of the phone).

So that’s MobileFun, Play, Expansys, possibly Amazon (and some other eretailers) and Mobiles.co.uk for UK folks interested in the N9.

In their place holder they appear to have some arbitrary rating. The N9 has 96% on rating, SGSII has 97%.

iPhone 4 (wow, 1 year old phone, still rockin though) doesn’t seem to have one of these pages. It does have it’s own mini site.

    http://nokiagadgets.com/2011/08/23/nokia-link-sync-your-n9/

To be honest, that looks like a very primitive app, why isn’t Nokia just using the Ovi Suite?!

    • Pökö says:

I think you can use OVI suite, but maybe there as “some” consumer for this also, because of this: “And what’s more, Nokia Link works with iTunes and iPhoto, so you can sync your favourite playlists, videos and photo albums easily”.

  6. Calvin H says:

Amazing! I really wish we could get an official update from the folks at Nokia, it’s like they want this phone to fail…. oh wait, right.

    • Viipottaja says:

And that’s why it IS being launched to what, 30+ countries now? :)

      • Saul says:

You can’t srsly think they haven’t done some things to limit it’s chance.

Get real, you must just have “WP-only blinkers” now.
You want to be able to turn-around later and say:

“See, Nokia did ‘X’ for N9 but it still failed, it can’t be that good!”

      • something says:

        30 out of 196

    Hi. Just look this http://meetmeego.org/2011/08/01/nokia-n9-in-der-schweiz-ab-dem-15-09-2011/

Will N9 coming publish on market 15.09.2011?

  11. Zaphod B. says:

I pre-ordered from here (Austria import):
    http://www.cyberport.de/foto-handy-navi/smartphones/A401-23J/nokia-n9-64gb-black.html
Mark that Amazon lists the 64GB version at €799,- rather than €699,- (and only after I contacted them ;) )

  12. Anig says:

It’s now showing as discontinued :(

  13. Grazy says:

    I just had this message:

    Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately, we are now unable to provide this handset on either Pay Monthly or Pay As You Go due to manufacturer requests. The advertisements have now been removed from our website.

I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards,

    • John Norris says:

I smiled at the reference to the advertisements being removed at the “manufacturer’s request”. Are Nokia really blocking the distribution of the N9?

Hey ho, the hunt (and wait) continues…..

  14. Montana_uk says:

It says discontinued by Vodafone on the site, BUT doesn’t mention the other networks…

  15. Jedibeeftrix says:

    “Nokia N9

This handset has now been discontinued on Vodafone.”

    :(

  16. Tri Pham says:

Anybody has knowledge to fix the N9 when Meego frozen or whatever? How can we bring it back to live? Thanks.
