Videos: Nokia C7 vs Nokia 701, IPS LCD CB vs AMOLED

Here’s another video comparison of the Nokia C7 against its younger, but more powerful 2.0 brother, the Nokia 701

The first show the differences between the C7′s AMOLED against the 701′s IPS LCD Clear Black.

• Adding Clear Black to IPS LCD helps solve previous issues of blacks not being dark enough (well, when compared to AMOLED at least)
• Colour accuracy is difficult to tell from a video. In general, AMOLED displays pop a little more due to higher saturation.
• Viewing angles are better on AMOLED, though IPS LCD not that far off in retaining colour and brightness at extreme angles. Not that this matters much as when the screen is so small, it’s rarely positioned anywhere except directly in front of your eyes.
• Clear Black assists in outdoor visibility. In the last video you’ll see another C7 vs 701 comparison where against natural light the regular AMOLED kinda looks a little washed out.

Now in this video the 1GHz CPU of the 701 is compared against the 680MHz CPU of the C7. Both have GPU as well, with earlier reports suggesting much improved in the 701.

Note that the C7 is still on Anna.
