Video: N9 Review – Firefox 9.0a1

As part of my review saga, I did a quick little review of Firefox (aka Fennec). This was intended to come after my reviews of the pre-installed apps, but based on the upload queue, this has finished early so I’ve decided to post it.

Firefox for the N9 is a very easy to use browser, with (in my opinion) quick page rendering and short load times. Pinch to Zoom is very fluid, as well as scrolling. The ability to install add-ons is something I think is quite useful, mainly because many of us become familiar with them on our desktop.

A nice feature of Firefox is the ability to sync with your desktop browser. This is not only bookmarks, but also live tabs. You can open a tab on your phone that is open on your browser. A great substitute for Nokia Drop.

If you own the N9, or even are thinking of getting it, download this file here. Took me a while to get it as I had to access the Firefox repository, later finding it on My-Meego.com :(  Make sure you enable applications to be installed from non-store sources. (Settings > Applications> Installations)

I’ll let the video explain the rest. As always, have any further questions, let me know below. Stay tuned for more.
