Matthew Miller for ZDNET has a shootout of the HTC Amaze 4G, iPhone 4S, Nokia N8 all against the Nokia N9.

In video, the N9 came last with, amazingly, the HTC coming first. HTC in a camera comparison (well video) and coming first. Who’d have thought it?

But overall though, who won? iPhone 4S? N8? the HTC? No, actually the N9 did.

HTC Amaze 4G Apple iPhone 4S Nokia N8 Nokia N9
Pitch black, flash 2 3 1 4
Macro-Haunted House 2 3 4 1
Macro-Flower 1 3 4 2
Auto-Haunted House 1 2 3 1
Auto-Flower Pot 4 1 2 3
Auto-Yard 4 1 3 2
Total 14 13 17 12

As you can see the results were very close and one of the top three could easily be the winning one with a bit of judgement difference. I was surprised that the N9 bested them all though and this is very encouraging to me as we are likely to see a Windows Phone 7 device with this same form factor, rumored and shown as the Sea Ray.

Cheers Abhishek for the tip!

Update: Not N9 Related, but has N8 in it. Engadget again, bringing up some awful pics from the N8. I guess this new guy can’t work out how to use a shutter button either. Clearly we have gone over this plenty of times how much clearer the N8 is in terms of detail THAN ANY OTHER GOD DAMN PHONE and even some digital cameras. For them to come up with comparisons yet again showing the iPhone 4 is better. Lol, no wonder the crew is all at ThisIsMyNext/TheVerge.

Nokia N8 – closer quality to a digital camera than your iPhone 4. Closer to reality colours and higher detail.
