This video takes a look at the new Symbian Belle Phone, the Nokia 701 and compares it with the Windows Phone Mango device from HTC: Radar.

  • Both made with metal, HTC unibody, 701 backplate
  • Reflections are worse on HTC screen, hardly visible.
  • Interface very different. Metro working really smoothly, looks really nice, great interface in our opinion
  • Belle UI, works OK but not as smooth as HTC Radar’s. Also, not as nice graphical and design but more functional though with homescreen.
  • We prefer HTC radar homescreen more.
  • Both 1GHz
  • 701 has some hiccups sometimes. HTC Radar doesn’t have any hiccups or problems it just runs very smooth, very nice.
  • Lot better browsing on the HTC(WP)
  • In scrolling, smoother on HTC (WP)
  • If you want to browse on your phone, HTC is certainly the better one.
  • Video takes a lot of time to load (in browser)
  • Unique to 701 is NFC chip, NFC enabled. ATM you can’t do much but some nice features in future. Angry birds magic – unlock other levels with NFC.
  • HTC radar not a lot better than the nokia one. Nokia 8MP, HTC 5MP, but Nokia has fixed focus (er full focus) HTC is full focus.
  • Price of the two is the same
  • Makes us conclude is for people who browse a lot, is the one that works and doesn’t crash and doesn’t have hiccups, HTC is the better phone.
  • If you want more customisation, don’t browse so much then the nokia is the better phone. It’s a personal choice.

I’m sure there are a bit more advantages and disadvantages in each phone.
