My Dream Nokia #33: Nokia 903 – ‘Nokia Precious’ Windows Phone concept

| October 23, 2011 | 22 Replies

Shihuzaan has published his latest work, the Nokia 903, or as he calls it, “The Nokia Precious”. It has a curved back and a flat front, with sharp corners where they meet. Reminds me of something from Sony Ericsson, I can’t place which one though. Either way, it looks quite nice.

Here are his specifications – are they realistic? Do these specs need to be higher?

  • Nokia 903 / Nokia Precious
  • 8 mp carl zeiss
  • 1.4 Ghz processor + powerful GPU
  • 16/64 GB internal memory only
  • NfC

About “My Dream Nokia”

I’m sure you’ve dreamt up your PERFECT Nokia device/UI. What it would look like, what it would feel like, what features it would have. Why don’t you share it with the world? Or at least with other Nokia fans :D .

It could be your own photoshopped or rendered work (seriously, you don’t need mega skills in either, basic paint job is often enough to convey a concept) of your dream product.

SEND this in similarly to tips@mynokiablog.com with the title “My Dream Nokia” and perhaps the model number (and a little description, maybe a few specs in the message area? Though this bit not necessary).

Who knows, maybe an image might flutter over to Nokia and through whatever route end up being real.

    I’ve two dream Nokia phones.

1 Meego Harmattan based phone with:
    - OMAP 4440 1.5ghz dual core SOC
    - Bluetooth 4.0
    - NFC
    - 1GB RAM
    - 16 GB storage with MicroSDXC slot (the one that can handle 64gb microSD card)
    - same N9 look and feel
    - same N9 display
    - same N9 camera
    - same N9 3G radio with added HSPA+ support
    - very good speakers (the one in N9 is just too weak)
    - FM radio with RDS
    - DLNA support (so I can wirelessly stream photo and video to my TV)
    - slightly bigger battery than n9 if possible
    - add voice control (get Vlingo to port their software to Harmattan)

2 Symbian belle based phone with:
    - 1 GHz or better SOC
    - 1 GB RAM
    - 16 GB storage with MicroSDXC slot
    - similar N9 look and feel
    - 4″ CBD with 1280×720 resolution
    - NFC
    - 3G Penta-band modem with HSPA+ support
    - 12 megapixel camera with xeon flash similar to N8
    - high quality stereo speakers (make it loud and clear)
    - FM radio with RDS
    - FM transmitter
    - DLNA
    - Change Symbian belle multitasking switcher to the one in N9
    - change Symbian belle browser to match the one in N9 but with flash support

      +1
or a bigger N8 with a stronger camera like an 4 inch with a better camera mount and stereo speakers and 8/16/32/64gb so we have choice and have as well no microSIM

Well. I will not talk about the concept we have here but there is something every time I see Metro UI from the day one I feel “bothered” by that arrow. I think it looks silly, plain stupid, unbalanced, plain ugly.

They could add some buttons for shortcuts under that arrow, some sort of Tabs. Something that could stay while the Blocks scrolls.

For moving to Applications they could just add a panel at the bottom or some where else to give a hint that there are application on next screen. Anything but that arrow alone.

my friend is using my 5230 and it’s his first smartphone he even said WP7 looks like shit and it’s just making people lazier and dumber
he figured out symbian in 15 mins LOL
cause it so packed with features

      • FireDragon

        Haha. True that.

Those ‘smartphones’ iPhone and WindowsPhone are basically targeting those (in my opinion) who usually go for simple phones. Simple consumers, not the hardcore units.

I would WP so much if it didn’t have some of those things and it could do most of these things. But there is market for it so, no issue.

Knowing Microsoft, they will push it to the higher place but it will take some years to go their.

        • deep space bar

yep atleast android is not made stupid since it’s a rip off of symbian

    • BellGo

      +1.

  • lovenokia

nokia 903 should have a 12 mp shooter the same like n8 and 1.8ghz processor at least

  • yemko

If i get myself WP, am gonna become lazier just because of a dull METRO UI….. Nokia has fell into deep *shit*!!!

If nokia want to survive, they are gonna need the nokia 903 or even nokia 900 to have statts like the galaxy s3 rumored statts. If they cant bring that they will strugle next year. Speaking of high statts, were is the 16mp n8 successor, where is an n95 type game changing device, that is what they need.

With these specs they can at-least compete with the rest. Only HTC Titan has 8mp camera and if Nokia want to take that flagship position they need to step up the hardware as well. They also need to put windows in the N8.
