The video below shows Brandon Watson, Senior Director for Windows Phone talking about developer opportunities for the Nokia Lumia series of Windows phones. He says it’s simple, get started, get noticed, get paid.

He mentions app connect on Mango. An important feature in bringing apps to people is first and foremost, discovery. If a user is without a source of outside suggestion, where would they get app suggestions from? Windows Phone can suggest apps for you. e.g. when searching for a movie, you might get relevant apps you’ve already installed or suggestions on apps to install.

Brandon talks about the Nokia partnership, the importance of Nokia stepping up and taking a gamble on WP. He compares the situation with the then fledgeling Android, which was helped by the Droid advance of Motorola (though where Moto has ended up, we’d rather not follow. Also, Motorola disappeared off the face of the map for several years. Nokia is still a giant).
