What’s rarer than 40 limited edition Nokia Lumia 800s etched with Batman for the Dark Knight Rises movie?

I tried to explain with a little background that prior to Lumias receiving the etching treatment, the guinea pig for testing was the Nokia N9.
James was tweeting yesterday about having put the picture up online. Note that you just see the N9 case etched, but apparently there are actually 6 batman logos etched around the N9 test unit.e
I suppose we might not get to see that, the closest may be just the case and taking James and Ricc’s word for it 
. Even though I also have one of these Batman Lumias, I’m kinda too scared to use it as my main phone and anywhere outside the comfort of the house I’m sleeping in. Jon Choo, fellow techblogger and batman lumia owner, is apparently taking his everywhere. I guess it’s a pretty good talking piece to have a freakin batman phone in your pocket.
We had to create 40 Dark Knight branded Nokia Lumia 800s for an upcoming project* however, at the time, we didn’t have any Lumias to experiment with – so I volunteered my own N9.
Same body, same case, same result.
I’m now the owner of the only Batman-branded Nokia N9 in the world. Amazing

what a waste of money if you buy it, just a additional logo engraved on the back can make it special?
Special edition of n9 should add some special hardware features like hdmi, different color, special theme for meego harmattan, differetn material used for the body, etc
They’re just promotional, they are not on sale. At least not officially from Nokia (they might end up on eBay or some place if one of the other owners decides to sell).
There’s another ‘special edition’ n9 with a different packaging (another localised promo, not official widespread Nokia thing, like say a gold or limited new colour).

I remember one member at a previous thread pointed out how the design of the Dark Knight Lumia 800 special edition looks like a last-minute job and I agree with him. Same can be said of this one.
Just an opinion but if Nokia put an etched silhouette of Batman at the back of the phone and made a complete Dark Knight box instead of a box cover, then it might not look like a last-minute job.
To be honest, if Nokia did promoted a one-of-a-kind Nokia N9 Batman edition, I’ll find it sexier than those 40 Dark Knight Lumias (and the Lumias are already burning sexy).

wait a sec, the n9 in the pic above with the batman icon, isnt that a cover thats etched, not the phone itself?, and how come we are not allowed to see the etching all around the phone

Nokia isnt stupid to just make one limited edition N9.

The N9 as noted in the post was a test for the Lumia etching. You’ll just have to trust Whatley (James) when he says his N9 is etched.
BTW, these things aren’t directly from Nokia. It’s a promo thing via Nokia Connects (previously WOMWorld).

with the duke on graved in but with NO bumper (the dukw doesn’t need a bumper).
meego was also considered by some analysts as vapourware like duke nukem forever. long awaited and great the duke and the n9!
