It still sucks! I’m sorry but this just doesn’t cut it. Belle sweeps the floor with this one. A lot of widgets are still not supported. There’s still no landscape. The music player widget still does not show album cover, and there’s still no email widget. Stay away!
There’s no landscape?
This is a showstopper for me. A real deal breaker. I was seriously considering it before, even if just for showing off to iPhone and Android friends, but now that I know there’s no landscape mode there’s no way I’m purchasing this.
love love love love
is there any unsigned cracked version for n8 ???
Never liked SPB, their theme makes it look toy-ish. Plus its over complicated at places…
Obsolete since we’ve got belle.
On my nokia N8 I have tried both SPB Shell 3D and SPB Mobile shell and like many programs I find things I like and things I find lacking. I really like the looks of both programs and find them very smooth to use and the 3D panels are great. I use the 3D shell exclusively on my Toshiba Thrive Android tablet and it looks really great, much better then on my N8 and it supports landscape mode on the tablet. One thing I do not understand about SPB is why they have two separate programs that are so much alike. My main gripe is the lack of widget support especially the Nokia email widget which is not supported in either program as many other widgets I normally use. I also find that they do not even support the same widgets in both programs. I am still stuck with Symbian Anna so I cannot say if there is a difference with Belle hopefully I will find that out in Feb. I should also mention that the program eats up a lot of ram, about 20% of the 256 MB on my N8.
Waste of time with this.. Belle is better..maybe not Eye Candy like SPB , but it better..
That’s what pisses me off so much, that I really liked this on Android but the Symbian version leaves so much to be desired. I’d say that this is still very much in Beta and they shouldn’t be charging for it. And they took three months to come up with just a few extra widgets, still no landscape and no email widget. Anyway on Belle I have no probs running this together with Opera Mobile and other heavy apps. It seems to use around 5mb of RAM at most plus there’s no memory leak so it runs really smooth. Agree with xyz, Belle renders this obsolete. They need to do much better.
Have you tried it on an Android tablet, it really works well even though it is not “officially” supporting tablets.
No I haven’t as I don’t have a tablet but I used this with my Motorola Atrix (since sold) and I loved it. When it came out for Symbian I bought it since I thought it would be the same. Big mistake! Btw SPB Mobile Shell has also been updated to be compatible with Belle. I’d say it’s much better than Shell 3d but still not as good as Belle.
I got the update yesterday but cannot find the slightest difference at least with Anna, still no Nokia email widget support.
Yeah but u get that email icon that shows u unread messages so that’s pretty ok at least. Shell 3d is better looking though for me and I like that u can put folders on the screen but it’s too lacking in many aspects to be of any use at the moment.
