Windows Phone Marketplace surpasses 55,000 apps. Rate of growth increasing still.

Just about two weeks ago we heard that Marketplace has reached 50,000 apps. All About Windows Phone reports it’s now on 55,000. That’s an increase in growth of submissions again from 265/day to 328/day.

With Nokia on board, developers are giving this platform a chance, and it is already the second fastest growing app store in terms of reaching to 50k mark.

But that’s just numbers. What’s really important is that there is:

  • High proportion of quality apps
  • Great variety of quality apps

With news like this it attracts more users, which attracts more developers who can make more apps to attract more users. Rinse, repeat.

What’s more, Nokia is only just starting their onslaught of bringing Nokia Windows Phone in volume. Again more users, easier to attract developers. Considering the very small user base, it’s amazing how the marketplace is able to attract developer support and even great sales for those developers, some earning more here than other larger app stores.
