N9Apps: MeeCamHor (capture pictures with FFC )

| January 19, 2012 | 10 Replies

That’s right folks. We finally have an app to utilise the FFC on our N9′s to take photos. Haven’t tried it as my N9 is out for repair, with the temp. replacement to arrive today, so I don’t know how well it works. It isn’t a free app, costing AUD$2.00 but, if it works as advertised, I’d happily pay for that. Even though it should have been a free feature that was included by default since launch.

Have you tried the app before? Is there another app out there that you know of that can take happy snaps with the FFC? If so, we’d like to hear from you. So drop us a comment below and we may even update this post with a user review.

    Haha, what a name :D

    Note there are more apps that do the same for free…there is one that allows you to use the ffc as a webcam. and one that works as a mirror…they have been at the attire for months now…..

      Show me a camera app for the FFC. By camera app I mean one that captures pictures?

      Yes, you can use simple mirror and screenshot it, but that is stupid.

      As for SmartCam, again, it doesn’t capture the image, just streams it, so it can be used on a computer.

    Is there a reason why anyone would like to capture images with FFC? Or am I missing the point?

    @Michael Faro-Tusino,
    You mentioned it went for repair. What happened to your N9?

    • Michael FT says:

      Screen exceeded max temp and display cracked, i believe from expansion and contraction. The glass is fine, just the display layer underneath. Should Be fixed by next week. Using loan for now

    Hi,

    I am the developer for MeeCamHor and thanks for the mention of my app.

    The name was meant to be a pun and I am glad someone caught it :)

    There’s a new update which now allows you to use both front and main camera. It also allows you to have multiple categories as well. Have fun!
