Nokia Lumia 710 Uncovered: Groups and Sharing

| January 24, 2012 | 7 Replies

Here’s another video in Nokia Connects’ series of Lumia things. This is groups and sharing demonstrated with the aide of helicopters. Nokia Lumia’s phones have a different style of people group implementation. Instead of just being names in a group, with the embedded social networking, you can see live updates of people from that group, see what they’re sharing in addition to being able to quickly share something with them.

I find it nice to quickly be able to catch up on how certain groups of friends are doing at a quick glance from the people hub. As I mentioned before, after exams (phew just one left) I’ll compile a list of likes & complaints and suggestions about the WP platform. However here I wish:

  • I could add more than 20 users
  • Why aren’t my groups synced? WTF.
  • Let me choose where twitter images are being sent to (e.g. twitpic not skydrive)

At the moment, very good implementation of groups, it just could do with some refinement.

Wow, a little ot. Google just announced if you are a android user, you must sign in and everything you do will be tracked and information compiled. Youtube, emails, cloud service, everything. No I ain’t buying your android for a penny.

NO OPT OUT, BY THE WAY.

Yep, they have finally gone insane at Google.

They will offer “customized” search results even if you’re not logged in. That means they’re doing IP address tracking and storing your IP info with what you were doing and doing it across platforms.

      Off to Bing I go.
