Nokia Lumia Tips: Forcing App Updates

| January 30, 2012 | Comments (10)

This tip is quite straight-forward, found it by chance while trying to update Whatsapp to 1.7 (fixes the Broken image sending bug); well straight to it. If you know that an application has been updated, and that the update is available yet it’s not showing in the Marketplace as “updateable” all you have to do is find the app press share then press back , Presto.

Ex: Whatsapp update to 1.7

Open Marketplace> Search Whatsapp (In info it’ll say V1.7 yet I have V1.6 without an update button)> press ‘Share’ > press the back soft key(no need to share) > Click “Update”> Enjoy!

I wish there was a way to force OS updates…..T-Mobile US is behind on updating the Lumia 710. I am stuck with the text entry issue and probably the battery issue as well.

try rebooting the phone (switching it off and on), it works like a charm ;)
