Nokia Lumia Tips: Forcing App Updates
This tip is quite straight-forward, found it by chance while trying to update Whatsapp to 1.7 (fixes the Broken image sending bug); well straight to it. If you know that an application has been updated, and that the update is available yet it’s not showing in the Marketplace as “updateable” all you have to do is find the app press share then press back , Presto.
Ex: Whatsapp update to 1.7
Open Marketplace> Search Whatsapp (In info it’ll say V1.7 yet I have V1.6 without an update button)> press ‘Share’ > press the back soft key(no need to share) > Click “Update”> Enjoy!

Didn’t work for me!
Depends If you already have the latest version, as well as if the update is available in your country.
I have the 1.6.2 installed and the 1.7 appears available on the Marketplace for Spain
Version 1.6.2 is the technical number for version 1.7 in the Marketplace.
Weird…
Me neither.
I wish there was a way to force OS updates…..T-Mobile US is behind on updating the Lumia 710. I am stuck with the text entry issue and probably the battery issue as well.
Isn’t the battery issure Lumia 800 related only?
The 710 simply has a weaker battery.
try rebooting the phone (switching it off and on), it works like a charm
But those three buttons on the bottom don’t say ‘ctrl’, ‘alt’ and ‘del’…
