Here’s Nokia’s video on how to make those classic Nokia Squircle style icons for Symbian. You don’t just have to use these for a Symbian app. You can perhaps use them in other places where you find the squircle shape to be an appropriate.

You want to
– use your own glyph in svg format
– get the correct background color so that it fits nicely to all the Symbian applications
– get your launcher icon into the squircle shape
– use Inkscape

This video shows you how to apply the template to make your launcher icon fit into the world of squircles and Nokia color schemes with Inkscape. Find a detailed description here: http://nokia.ly/x8Bonb
