Lumiappaday #101: The Guardian demoed on the Nokia Lumia 800
I’ve been using this app for quite a while and forgot its there until Iain Wallace tweeted me last week recommending it as one to share in our Lumiappaday segments. This app is “The Guardian” – the official app for The Guardian newspaper. It’s a clean app, metro panorama organized, very decent for reading news on mobile (especially with the font size option). You can pin particular categories to your home page if you wish. It refreshes each time you open it, I guess to make sure you have the latest news. I would prefer if it loaded up some previous news and then refreshed.
I didn’t show in our demo but you can actually watch videos from the guardian. The order of your favourites can be changed in settings (it would be nicer perhaps to be able to move them around like the homescreen tiles – just dragging). Interestingly there’s a search function, pretty nice  to find news just with certain words from the app itself. Also very nice is the inclusion of a home button to bring you straight back to the app’s home screen (so no pressing back several times needed).
