Weekend Watch: Nokia Store Over 13 Million Daily Downloads (Nearly 5Billion/year)

An interesting video called, “Monetizing Your Apps with Nokia” has some intriguing stats.

Nokia Store keeps growing in daily downloads. at over 13M daily downloads, that’s nearly 5 Billion downloads per year (rate wise). At least that’s what a video from Nokia said. The blurb they have in the description box is not quite what the video says. :p (Their distribute statistics page still says 11M as of January)

80% of traffic apparently converts to a download, generating the highest download per app than any other app store. Nokia has 134 operators with operator billing in 48 countries. Given the choice, as much as 88% would apparently prefer to use mobile payment vs card (I’m in the 12%). I am impressed by how seamlessly Nokia Store integrates these options.

Interesting widgets?

In app advertising will apparently account for 1/3 of all revenue by 2014 (with 65% of revenue in top 100 games coming from ‘Free-mium’ games) and forecast to be worth 8.5 Billion by 2015.

So Nokia Store – Massive Reach, Locally Relevant – drive your revenue beyond paid downloads! 🙂

Update: Video seems to have disappeared – possibly not ready yet for publishing.
