Accessories: Nokia PureView Camera case – protect the behemoth lens in style

In what looks like a welder’s mask, Nokia has an accessory to protect your Nokia 808 Pureview’s camera. There’s a sort of N93 style string flap camera cover that resembles some sort of pirate eye-patch.

Now I wouldn’t get just to protect from knocks. I’d get it to protect from dust or worst of all, fingerprints. That was the biggest reason for crappy N8 photos from my experience. A smear can obliterate the quality, especially at night when using flash or when aiming at direct sunlight. Alternatively you can try slip on cases or other things that cover the back. This seems to be a nice alternative solution as you only have to pop off the pirate-eye patch.

Cheers Fariz for the tip!
