| February 27, 2012 | 44 Replies

Check it out, more love for Symbian as your favourite 3rd party browser (the one that makes browsing usable and fun) Opera Mobile is upgraded to v12.

Opera Mobile 12 is available to download at

More details at:

What’s new

The latest version of Opera Mobile gives you:

  • 3D graphics
  • Location-based services
  • A camera in the browser!

Along with these cutting-edge features, we’ve also made lots of other nuts-and-bolts improvements, which means faster and smoother browsing for you. But, that’s not all…

Dial up your favorites

Speed Dial shows you all of your top websites at a glance. Now, you can keep adding new favorites as you discover them — as many as you want. Add websites to Speed Dial just by pressing the “+” sign. Organizing your Speed Dial choices is easy, too. Just click the “Manage” button to edit them or to rearrange the way they appear on the page.

More power to you

The latest version of Opera Mobile gets a boost from an all-new, supercharged browser engine. That means better HTML5 performance with the newRagnarök parser, and WebGL support for 3D graphics. Graphics of all kinds, including graphics on games, look sharper and brighter too

Thanks Mark for the tip!

Yup, I put it there to see if anyone would notice. Also the rectangles – I had hoped someone would think about zooming/cropping :p But at the same time all deniable as meaningful. :p

I think Virtue (spelling?) is a Nokia Brand? If yes then this year it is the official handset for “The Apprentice”. I noticed the logo last week but had doubts, this episode it was more clear. I will try to grab a screenshot of it.

  • Jay,

Opera Mini Next for Symbian is also available.

  • Great! Nokia should ship their phones with Opera, not Tencent Browser!

The lack of love continues unabated…

Anyone know if the official version recently released for N9 is 12.0 too?
      It’s only 11.5 isn’t it? 🙁

  • benji

hi! what about your wifi speed through Opera Mobile guys i found with 11.5 that i can’t cross circa 400kB download speed (various source servers). build-in

browser give me much better results!!! but i love Opera UI!

here is for example my average download speeds (same file on zippyshare)
    my desktop – 1,7MB
    nokia browser – 1,6MB
    opera mobile – 300kB (+ big min-max peaks, it jumps from 150 to 350)

i can’t get it cause upload is much higher and has nice stable speed (same speed like desktop), i thought that next release (version 12) fix this, but nothing changed btw, i test it on my 701 with latest update (111.030.0609)

    thanks for replies
