Weekend Watch: Nokia Lumia blasted with 3603mph/MACH 5 Wind

Woops. This was stuck in drafts from Feb 21 :S

I think we got contacted by NokNok/Mikey Bee over the weekend but I didn’t get around to posting about it. It was a teaser video for a test they published yesterday. They put the Nokia Lumia 800 in a Wind Tunnel set at MACH 5.

3603mph! That is high speed, high temperature, high pressure wind. They say though that the test lasted for 100 milliseconds. :S

To be fair, I would have liked to see what that speed would have done to other objects and then see how much better (if at all) the Lumia faired.

Whilst these tests are entertaining, I would like to see more realistic tests. I.e. no more glass scratch tests with massive knives. Go try some dust and dirt and see how they kill off your gorilla glass screen. Concrete Drop tests. Accidental drop in water..
