Nokia adds more BT profiles for Lumia 900, BT file transfer soon? + Tango update improves multitasking

A couple of stories that I thought I might roll into one.

First WMPU reports that Nokia have added more bluetooth profiles for the Nokia Lumia 900.

Surur says:

We suggest of Nokia wants to use their freedom to extend Windows Phone Bluetooth features, they may want to add Bluetooth File Transfer for when they sell their phones in emerging markets.

Next up, from WPCentral, the Tango Update that should appear on all Lumias is apparently going to increase the multitasking of apps to 8 from 5. It’s a welcome improvement though not an ideal solution for all, especially those that prefer to manage the memory of their running applications themselves.

I think I have become more lazy when using my Lumia as I don’t really worry about leaving tasks running as it manages everything well on its own. I would still welcome the suggestion by some to allow closing of all apps (either one by one or all) as opposed to pressing ‘back’ – just as an added option, one which would not be in conflict with the memory management. Apparently apps in the background aren’t taking any power/cpu, they can just resume instantly so leaving them there won’t have any adverse effects. I’m not sure how true that is as I know I can leave apps to download things, load pages etc.

It should really be called fast app switching, which for many would be just as useful as multitasking (components of which is doing things simultaneously AND being able to fluidly/quickly switch from one task to another).

Cheers Viipottaja for the tip.
