Lumiappaday #134: Lumia Snake 3D demoed on the Nokia Lumia 800

| March 28, 2012 | 10 Replies

This is a great twist on the Nokia Snake game. First Lumia colours. The floor is all in Lumia tiles. The 3D aspect however revolves around the fact that the snake’s world is in 3D in a big 3D cube. The things you have to catch are Lumias, in black, blue, magenta and white – all with different points, white being the most. Controls are simply with left and right touch to change direction. To catch the spinning lumia, you have to be at a specific point on the tile. There are three positions that you can be at (so just running along a row of tiles is not enough to catch the lumia, you have to be positioned properly on the tile).

At the top right you can see your scores and even a FPS indicator (mostly at 30fps).

It’s a fun game, though it would be nice if we could also set the speed or see a speed increase?

I’m rather pleased by how well thought out this version of snake is. Simple, yet absolutely appropriately Lumia, Snake and 3D (as opposed to just being Lumia in the title just to attract).

This game is free, but there are also no adverts. I’m definitely going to be keeping an eye out for other things the developer SinuX Systems makes.
