Wooooah! Nokia Maps 3D goes full Stereoscopic jumping off the screen 3D

| April 7, 2012 | 7 Replies

Just when you thought Nokia Maps 3D couldn’t get any cooler. The 3D stuff is now in real jumping out of the screen, red/blue anaglyph stereoscopic 3D!

The depth really is something. It’s like you’re actually standing over all of these buildings. It’s crazy! Especially when you begin to pan around and rotate :o The last time I was this amazed, it was the debut of Nokia Maps 3D itself.

You will need some red/blue cinema 3D glasses to check it out. I happen to have found one randomly and it is AMAZING. Without it it looks like a mess but put the glasses on and holy crap I’m in London getting vertigo.

The effect can be turned on/off instantly by clicking the 3D glasses at the top right corner.

There are some views that you can only appreciate in stereoscopic 3D. Going to a more horizontal view, it is difficult to distinguish what’s at the foreground.

Pop to 3D mode, and put on your 3D glasses (not the black polarized ones) – the red blue ones and see something you wouldn’t have seen in a flat picture.

Check it out over at:

Cheers CJ and Prashant for the tip!

Am I color blind or should you use red-green 3D glasses – not red-blue?
