PR1.2 available for Nokia N9 on Vodafone Australia

Well that was quick.

Just yesterday we saw that Vodafone Australia was pending roll out for PR1.2 and now it’s available. Well relatively quick, PR1.2 has been out for a while. Hopefully we’ll see Belle for N8/C7 appear soon too.

All Features and Enhancements:

Email

  • Mail for Exchange Global Address Book Lookup
  • Email Threads Support

Camera

  • Continuous Shooting (3 shots per second)
  • Faster Shutter for single shots
  • Video Light
  • Self Timer
  • Easy Flash control
  • Composition Grid for Camera UI

Gallery

  • Face recognition for gallery
  • Edit and preview MMS videos
  • Colour/Vintage photo filters
  • People view in Gallery
  • Video Editing

Calendar

  • Ability to forward calendar events
  • Support for private flagged events
  • UI improvements to calendar
  • Calendar date is updated to the application view icon

Music

  • Playlists can be created in music player
  • Audiobook and podcast support
  • Music songs can be deleted

Sharing

  • DropBox upload sharing plugin included
  • Twitter sharing extensions (photo and videos)
  • Ability to re-size images based on sharing destination

Facebook

  • Notifications of activities from Facebook can now be seen on home screen and idle screen (general notifications, new messages, and new friend requests)
  • Ability to friend other Nokia N9 users on Facebook via NFC
  • Location and friend tag information format redesigned when displaying status updates
  • Ability to “like” a status update comment
  • Ability to take new picture from Camera from News Feed
  • Friend search is now separated onto its own (outside of search within existing Friends)
  • Messages now more consistent with Facebook.com interface (contains all messages within messages threads and consistent folders)
  • Gallery Sharing – some privacy settings changed to be consistent to those on Facebook.com (for album and video privacy is showing Public instead of Everyone. Friend of friend is removed for video privacy).
  • Gallery Sharing – friend tags within pictures which are generated via the new face recognition feature can be shared with Facebook

Twitter

  • Notifications of activities from Twitter can now be seen on home screen and idle screen
  • Picture of tweets can now be seen on Event Feed

Maps and Drive

  • Speed limit warnings
  • TerminalMode/MirrorLink support
  • Favourites with Nokia account synchronization
  • “Navigate Home”
  • Route options (modifiers like “Avoid freeways”)
  • Picking destination from Map
  • Quick zoom (button on the bottom right to see what is ahead of you)
  • Repeat the last command (if you press on the blue bar with the next manoeuvre, the user is able to listen the last played manoeuvre)
  • Compass support to Maps

Other

  • Support for video chat (Google Talk video call app available in Store)
  • Application folders in task launcher
  • Media sharing via TV and gaming consoles
  • Media sharing indication to status area
