Video: Nokia India and Nokia 808 PureView – Symbian, platform for innovation (+hands on 808)

Here’s a neat little video showing a Nokia 808 event in India. It is reiterated that whilst WP is the new strategy, Symbian still has its place, especially in India. Symbian can fill price points and is also a platform for innovation, bringing things like NFC and now PureView in Nokia 808.

The 808 is looking really nice in the hands on. Belle FP1 looking very snappy. The guy in the video says he doesn’t want to mention Symbian as a downside and would prefer to see this in a Windows Phone. Well, yes, but Belle FP1 is looking pretty neat, no? I guess Lumia PureView will come but there’s going to be a wait. If folks want PureView now, then go for 808. I don’t know why, but they mention the N8 was using PureView lite – is that their interpretation or something Nokia India mentioned. This was something Steve Litchfield mentioned some weeks ago when discussing the lossless zoom in N8’s video.
