Video: Nokia 808 PureView hands on in India, coming in next 3-4 weeks.
Another hands on with the Nokia 808 PureView, from the same event as yesterday’s 808 hands on. Nothing new to be seen but still, I can’t get enough of it.
I like how fast the shutter press to snap is. It also seems to flash which is so quick, its hard to tell the flash went off.
BTW, I don’t think their camera is rendering the screen well as the colours almost appear all monochrome. We have seen plenty of other videos and sample pictures to know precisely that this can take fantastic shots.

OH SHIT SON ……GETTING MY BDAY MONEY READY
Lol- I just blew all my cash on a new laptop- No pureview for me
I hope you got a powerful GPU in your laptop! If not, take it back now and get one with a powerful GPU.
A laptop without a powerful GPU is a waste of money as you can’t add an internal GPU after you buy it.
As processing requirements go up, your machine needs to be well equipped to handle whatever developers throw at it.
so true now a days intergrated is GPUs are so shady too
I wish i wud be there due to these exams i didn’t went delhi in workshop.
HURRY UP & RELEASE IT!!!!!!
The 3-4 weeks bit is not something Nokia said, I assume its how the presenter interpreted Nokia’s ‘coming in a few weeks’ statement as.
oh no i got only 400 dollars
give me actual price of 808 JAY
What will be the price wen it launches? hope its not more than 35k..
Seems that its gona be priced heftily initially .. 40k around according to what i read in Nitishkumar’s blog .. According to him by year end it will come under 30k
Sadly my budget is around 25k
& yes i missed the mumbai event .. I doubt if even we wud have been allowed
ya the event was invite only for some bloggers and not all.. can’t wait till year end will buy as soon as its price is less than 35k..
Damn when are where was this happening in India, Is it coming to Mumbai anytime soon??? Shit missed it.
yest it was in mumbai… first one was in Delhi..
I’m interested in comparison shots between 808 and the N8. Especially low light shots.
The 808 is too tempting. Any reviews on the virtual keyboard?
It’s unfortunate the screen is so ordinary…
Video handling/processing abilities are top-notch, yet you barely appreciate it on the screen.
And how often do you watch pictures from the screen of you DSLR (besides when you have taken them)? I use my FullHD TV to watch pictures..
Compared to the 3″ screen of my Canon EOS450D the 4″ screen on the 808 is nicer, although they have maybe the same amount of pixels.
On the other hand I am also disappointed at the screen resolution
and I hope Nokia will improve a lot on that field.
That’s beside the point, it’s not a camera it’s a smartphone.
One should rightly expect better viewing “on the phone”.
Luckily it’s other top-notch features compensate for the mediocre screen.
To some extent….
I am sorry, but I have to say what a bad review(er)..
The guy is completely missing all the sweet lossless zoom abilities of PureView.. And why does he take a picture of a picture from 20 cm with the xenon flash (producing a bad picture)? Haha..
And in the first picture he focuses on the glass (and due to depth-of-field the flowers are out-of-focus), and then he zooms in on the out-of-focus flowers and explains that it takes a moment for the image to render after zooming in (haha, no the flowers are just out of focus…)
But the phone looks awesome! It looks thinner and thinner every time I see it! I really have to get it ASAP! Loving the bump too because it screams 41 MP to your face! IT’S A MONSTER!
+1
off topic!
Does it have a curved screen lyk The N9? Or just the edges?
The 808 has a curved screen like the N9.
One of the reasons you really have to hold it in your hand like the Lumia or N9 to actually get a feel for the manufacturing quality of the device.
yeah,
thanx
@dave
is is exactly the same kind of curvature or different?
["The 808 has a curved screen like the N9."]
@Dave
is is exactly the same kind of curvature or different?
@saul
They look alike, but definitely do not feel the same.
The screen sizes and device designs are entirely different.
Right but is the curved screen implemented in exactly the same way, or is there some subtle differences?
(screen sizes ARE roughly the same)
Thank-you.
I can’t say… The only time I had the 808 in my hands was back at MWC (which was for a VERY limited amount of time)
Sorry.
okay np, thanks anyway.
