The Code Warrior: Nokia’s attempt to gain app momentum

Scrolling through Twitter and I saw a post on CNet. Apparently Nokia and Microsoft have joined together to create what they are calling “The Code Warrior”. This is a project aimed at both WP developers and users. Users and developers can submit app ideas, these ideas get voted up and developers can then battle out for the best app based on that idea. The more votes the idea gets, the better the prize.

At the moment, the prizes range from industry respect, to devices, and even to cash. The site isn’t fully live yet, just a sign up page. There will be a” 14-city Hack-a-thon” starting May 10. The event has its own page if you are keen

According to CNet,( I say according as I can’t find it) the event description is as follows;

The rules are simple. Build an app listed on the “bounty board”. Satisfying a bounty awards you the associated prize, and we will be putting up 100 Nokia Lumia devices per city as the initial prize pool. In addition, the top 3 created apps, top student created app, and best dressed Bounty Hunter (use your imagination!) will be awarded extra prizes.
