Nokia Browser with S40, now with Multitasking to switch between messaging and web.

NokConv reports that Nokia Browser for S40 is updated to 2.0. I don’t know where the screenshot is from, but it looks like an odd resolution for S40 (unless that instead of showing just what’s on the screen we are given what the full page is supposed to look like, sans scrolling?). The screenshot also doesn’t look like S40, i.e. not clunky at all.

Also, there’s mentions that you can multitask between the browser and texting. At what stage now should we expect more widestream multitasking and then S40 for Nokia to suddenly catapult itself back as the number 1 smartphone manufacturer by a wide margin?

  • Nokia Browser condenses data by up to 90%.
  • That makes loading web sites faster, and cheaper – in fact, our cloud-accelerated browsing makes loading web sites up to three times faster.
  • Download Manager: Using the new Download Manager you can save music, video or pictures on a memory card, while you’re surfing the Internet.
  • The update also includes a host of new features to make searching, discovering and sharing content even easier…
  • Better searching and sharing:  Browser now has a new, more intuitive, user interface with one-click access to top local sites from the start page
  •  multitasking while browsing, meaning that you can switch between text messages and the web.
  •  even easier to share content across social media:
  • 10,000 web apps
