I don’t understand… The phone has been ready for a few weeks now… It has allready passed the FCC and now it’s on NAvifirm so it’s ready for a wile now… So why are they still waiting to release it?
    Can someone please explain?

And if it’s ready, why do we in Europe (Belgium, The Netherlands) have to wait untill end of june or even July?

    Damn you, Nokia :’(

I think it’s because of the Lumia 900…
On a side note, I would not hesitate to get a Nokia Windows Phone if it has a good camera and an FM Transmitter. Oh well, guess I’ll get the 808 first. It ticks every checkbox for me ^_^

Nokia Australia wont even Mention the 808.. Like its a dirty unmentionable word.

They can’t ignore us forever. Keep hammering on! :)

Does your country’s Nokia has any specific software pre-installed?

Mine has, at least when I bought it sim-free. Came with a Traffic app that doesn’t mean anything to me because I don’t live in the capital city, a tourism app, and TV station app for streaming pass shows.

And I can’t even uninstall them… no big deal though, I just don’t use it.

They probably wait until they make sure these apps work before ship it, that’s my guess at least.

Yep, also here in the Philippines. I think they will launch Lumia 900 first this month and pureview next. Hopefully. Filipinos need to see this beast of a cameraphone!

July is the release target of the Nokia 808 PureView. If it isnt, it’ll be august – if past patterns are to believed

I THINK NOKIA THEMSELFS ARE A BIT SCARED TO RELEASE THIS PHONE- They want ppl to start buying ther windows phones 1st becouse thats the future for nokia,Then again they are releasing the worlds best camera phone 41mega pixil beast!(& symbian OS is getting really good with updates).ppl will be in 2 minds.I myself are going to buy the 808,but after the 808 this time nex year it will be a windows phone with pureveiw tec BUILD IN i will be buyin. The windows os i think is the fastest in the world compare to andriod & apple. And nokia lumia 900 is selling really well in the states. The future for Nokia has started to look bright again,The only really problem i have with them is THEY DONT KNO HOW TO ADVERTISE THER PRODUCTS ANYMORE (Mabe that will change soon).

nokia needs money. they should sell the 808. thats it. and with the revenues they can pay a lot of of app developers to code something for wp.

      • j

btw. strategic thinking doesn’t work that way as some people think. in my opinion the market and all is too complicated to expect what people will do in the future.

that means: when nokia has a competitive product, they should sell it!!! to show people that the brand still exists.

If something has been posted somewhere else, it does not mean that the same can’t be written anywhere else. Not everyone visit dailymobile (or any other blog/forum).
