Nokia Asha Launch Nokia House (internal for Nokia Staff) with snaking conga, dancing Blanca Juti and Asha Touch Cakes!

I was told that normally, during a launch of new devices, emails would be sent out to the staff. To do something different, during lunch, there was a Nokia Asha Party, including conga line and some excited latin dancing.

Do you remember Blanca Juti at Nokia World 2011? She introduced the Asha series with an excited, energetic little dance on the stage. It seems that wasn’t just a one off. At the start of the day Blanca and her team were on the front doors of Nokia with flyers and stickers and hugs and excited greetings to let them know that something’s going to happen around lunch time.

This was not a blogger/media event, but something nice for the Nokia staff.

This conga line Nokia snaked around the cafeteria (as can be seen in the video) finally ending in a collective dance in the middle.

As I suggested Nokia four years ago, better late then never…

  4. twig says:

It is the N9 in different skin.

    • Ebon & Unicorn N9s says:

Sorry but it isn’t. this is no where near an N9 except for the home screen swipe flow..

  5. @rollindadice says:

that looks like loads of fun, good stuff

  6. manu says:

  7. lordstar says:

Seems really fun to work there. Nice to know how internal operations are in Nokia.

  8. Viipottaja says:

Damn, I still think she is kinda hot.. yeah I know.

Good fun, although I can as a Finn guess that quite a few people felt ackward dancing sober in front of their peers. :D

  9. Janne says:

  10. manu says:

    • Ebon & Unicorn N9s says:

The Unicorn N9?? Can’t really make out if it indeed is N9..

    • DesR85 says:

Looks like a white Lumia 800 (or 900) phone if you ask me. ;)

      • incognito says:

Judging by the screen (full-screen video with overlay buttons), tho a higher res image would be appreciated, it most certainly ain’t a WP. And judging by the sharp edges, unless it’s an optical illusion, it ain’t the 808PV either.

Wahaa!! So much goes on inside Nokia. Really Awesome!! :)

  13. Billbobaggins says:

Hey there Nokia dont forget some more folds/flips please sick of these damn smart phones.

  14. HappyN9User says:

If they dance that much for low(er) end phones, I’d like to see the 808 launch dance :)

  15. Carbontubby says:

Looks like they’re having fun :) The fact that it was all internal and not a PR stunt shows it’s not all doom and gloom with the people in the company.

I think the Asha series has real potential in developing markets like India, Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia and China. They’re pretty cheap for what they bring to the smartphone table.

  16. Ekeluo says:

Mummy! mummy! Jay ate the camera!!!!

  17. steelicon says:

Wow. Are most Finns really tall? Judging from the video.
