Nokia maps updated to v2.5

| July 26, 2012 | 13 Replies

Nokia maps app for windows phone updated to version 2.5 with couple of new added features and other slight improvement and bug fixes.

The two features added in version 2.5:

  • —->Groupon integration(U.S only).
  • —->Route planner.

This update is reported to appear on Windows Phone marketplace in a matter of time. While I asked Nokia whether symbian or Meego are getting any update in their maps application, they replied:

“We will let you know through Social Media in the future”.

Hey thanks for asking whether Symbian users would get it.

    • John says:

Indeed, nice to see MNB writers cover “all” of Nokia’s top-end platforms.
Even if one or more are not their favourite, or the LT focus any more.

  2. goosepig says:

That’ll be a big ‘NO’ for Symbian then…

    • Paul Grenfell says:

      We’ll let you know,,

      • goosepig says:

Exactly. I’m reading between the lines..

        • jeroenhuismast says:

So that means Nokia beta labs is turnin in to a Wp7/8 beta labs i guess

          • Shriek says:

Honestly i saw this happening. The number of updates for the beta apps had gone down. And the number of new apps had stopped too.

I Honestly feel a little cheated with my 808. They could atleast update the present betas to work on the 808, Half of nokia’s apps dont work on it.

            • John says:

You think you feel cheated, try owning a N9/950…
Harmattan’s barely had anything pumped out from betalabs since day one compared to S^3.
S^3 has had far better support, it’s only started to shift more towards WP7/8 relatively recently.
If it weren’t for the amazing Maemo.org community, N9/950 owners would be “up shit creek”.

  3. Gäst says:

If you own a non WP Nokia phone you won’t get the updates.
I find it so funny that my N9 or N8 won’t get the updates but if i later this year buy an Samsung WP8 it will have the latest Nokia maps suite.
Thanks for asking about symbian and meego.

    • Ali Abdulla says:

      lol, dark comedy.

we’ll c about the “till 2016″ support elop used to mention alot..

don’t worry guys, four years left xd

wasn’t it abc business, to keep ur loyal customers happy? not every day you see business try so hard to push away current customers and look for a new breed somewhere else .

just sad how Nokia is butchering the so called dead horse . just sad

  4. Rahul says:

Symbian might get an update as the 808 was launched recently but I would be very surprised (and pleasantly so) if Meego gets an update.

  5. Doffen says:

Who gives a sh@t about the MS minion that Nokia has become?

  6. SaDudE says:

Didn’t symbian just get an official Groupon app….maybe we will get this one?
