Lumiappaday #270: Crackle demoed on the Nokia Lumia 900 (Free Movies)
I just came across this app a few minutes ago and it’s quite brilliant. You might have seen Crackle on YouTube before bringing you free films/tv shows. Not just old films/tv shows not worth watching but actually some pretty decent ones. Just download the app, sign in/create an account (free) and begin watching movies or TV shows for free and it’s legit.
Streams are pretty decent quality. You can pin to your start screen and resume playback at any time.

Super cool! I don’t have a WP yet, but I just watched an episode of The Three Stooges (I know, I know…lame, but it was a funny ep!) from my PC. But I think it’s great that this app is now available on WP.
Can’t wait to get a Nokia WP. Will definitely need at least a 4″ screen, but with all of the new apps showing up, not to mention the new apps forthcoming resulting from WP8, I think I will probably go for a 4.3″ – 4.5″ device.

Jari, how do you like the Symbian or N9 version of this app? I assume there is one you are taking such keen interest on the WP version.

I had this app on Android. Not bad at all considering it’s free. Nice to see it on WP!
Hope everyone is keeping up with the epic trial of apple vs Sammie. If apple wins, Sammie may be toast. Nokia could have the same claims against Sammie then. There wouldn’t be any profit left for Sammie with all the fees per phone then. the verge is keeping up with trial news.
This, and many other apps Jay have introduced on this site, are not available in Europe and the Far East.
That’s a big let down and the lack of this kind of apps, the most popular and high rated games and local based apps in the Marketplace is one of the big reasons why people still have no interest in WP.
Microsoft and Nokia really need to step up their pace, in apps and specs, otherwise it’s gonna be a battle that can’t be won.
you are so clueless… I have the app and am in United Kingdom…. I see people with windows phone everyday now… though I am seeing more Galaxy s3 than iphone and wp… but the share of wp is rising… especially with the 710.
Yep, I know it’s available in the UK, I actually read Jay’s blogpost so no reason for me to be clueless.
But the UK is not the whole of Europe, actually, with a different currency you’re not a part of Europe at all but that’s another discussion.
For the rest of Europe this app, at a great part of the apps Jay has introduced, is not available and that’s my point.
