More Engadget news – this time we can see Myriam who is at Nokia House.

This is the wall of old Nokia phones (there’s also a room full of them in Nokia Lounge)

Odd fact: These classy looking white orchids at Nokia House were pretty swish, I decorated my room with them to get a touch of Nokia House at Uni.

Cheers  DKM for the tip!

Right, off to wards! :)

wow, reminiscing my childhood days with b/w phones by nokia on that time

    the 8210, my first phone

  4. Maaaaas says:

I cant believe that this fat ass didnt ask about meego and jolla

    • viktor von d. says:

it’s actually a she. the questions were from users, not from her. and he did answer it in a way if you are questioning if meego is still part of nokias future. they are constantly looking into the future. of course they can’t say very specific things cause the world would speculate too much on those things and it would affect their current strategy. it’s like a politician speech, but i can understand them not going into details about meego or other operating system or strategy
and who knows, engadget seems to be spending some time there, maybe we will get a longer interview, but i doubt we will more answer.

but it is confusing to me why you would want answers about meego and jolla from elop. it’s no longer his or nokia concern what happens to meego.unless it’s their secret plan b, but that would mean they can’t speak about it and deny it. but if you want meego informations ask the jolla guys. they have twitter accounts

And I think You should learn how to behave!

Calling someone like that is very harsh.

Myriam has been always very good writer and she knows what she is talking about. Besides she is one of the (rare) non-biased writers over Engadget.

Ah, feeding of trolls shouldn’t be allowed. But here I am doing it :)

  5. Dave says:

my first Nokia was the 3650. Didn’t really like the 3210 or the 3310. :P

  6. Stirling says:

Based on Stephen’s answer to the question about QWERTY form factors, it sounds like Nokia is moving away from QWERTY, particular in the high end :-(

    • Stirling says:

      I was referring to this:

      Engadget Q&A with Stephen Elop:
      http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/25/live-with-nokia-ceo-stephen-elop/

      Joseph Volpe 5:46 PM

Do you have any plan to launch other form factors including, for example, QWERTY?

      Stephen Elop 5:49 PM

Over time, you will see different sizes and formats. For example, the race for larger and larger screens continues, and yet is not the right answer for many people. You will also see us continue to evolve the Fabula design language to account for some of our advances in photography, etc. As for QWERTY, this is one of the more hotly debated topics. Over the last few years, we have been often the largest producer of QWERTY devices (popular in emerging markets as well as in business), and yet the trend seems to be moving heavily away from this… particularly because of the quality of the text prediction on WP (awesome).

    • Peter L says:

Well, if QWERTY form factor popularity is fading, it makes sense to reconsider if such a model should be made at all.

    • Viipottaja says:

That’s what consumers seem to want. And I do too, am happy enough with onscreen qwerty now and don’t want the extra bulk that qwerty would add even though I appreaciate its benefits; perhaps this will change if my employer starts supporting WP for our corporate email but don’t see that happening.

Having said that, would not be surprised if a E6 form factor WP device did come out.

  7. M says:

Lime (Xbox) green apparently I wasn’t the only one wanting this color.

  8. DesR85 says:

Brings back memories looking at these phones, especially the Nokia 1110, one of the budget phones my dad bought for me. ;)

And that red flip-phone (I think it is the N76) reminded me back 3 years ago when I was in LiJiang, China when I happened to watch one TV show about mobile phones where there was a comparison between this Nokia phone and a Haier (a Chinese brand) flip-phone. Man did that host rip the former by pointing out that it can only flip upwards but cannot flip on the right side, down and back to its original position like the Haier one. Not to mention how she pointed out how flashy the Haier’s UI is when compared to the Nokia one.

Back then, I wasn’t even interested in Nokia and mobile phones in general at that time. Even my brother who was there with me called that Haier phone’s fancy flips useless. :p
