Video: Customers as Ambassadors with Nokia’s Becky Gloyne

Here’s a video on supposedly ‘how to turn Nokia customers into brand Ambassadors’, specifically how social works at Nokia. Reminds me of the things WOMWorldNokia used to do.

The video is a bit long – about 25 minutes but there are some interesting insights. Apparently, Stephen Elop leaves a message for the employees at least once a day and replies to them all.

I’m not sure if the social media people are in anyway connected to the marketing people. Becky apparently asked people, who was Nokia’s biggest fan, and received a flood of emails from passionate Nokia fans from around the world.

Part of this is about recruiting talent. It was interesting to find out that this is a continuously ongoing process that occurs even at events such as MWC (though Nokia apparently tried to do this in a subtle way). Things like that apparently pulls more of a buzz than a job advert or marketing campaign (well not the way Nokia does marketing campaigns anyway. Hello marketing?)

Note – Elop joined not in January/February 11 as noted by the video where supposedly ‘Nokia staff know their facts’. :p
