Nokia Purity HD Wireless Up For PreOrder on Amazon For a Whopping $350

One of the cooler accessories announced alongside the Lumia 920 and 820 (in fact slightly before them at IFA) is the refreshed line of Nokia Purity Headsets. The Purity HD Wireless by Monster sheds the wires and adds bluetooth connectivity and active noise cancelling; but apparently all these cool add-ons raise the price bar as well; seeing how it’s now available on Amazon for a pricey $349

On the other hand you can snap up a pair of the original Purity HDs (which I can personally vouch for) for $160 right now:

    From the FAQ:

Why can I only use the wireless connection with Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian and Nokia N9 devices?

Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian and Nokia N9 phones have Nokia AV connector, which is not compatible with the TRRS connector of your headset.

Could wired connection be used with different cable/adapter with N9?

BS, any of the 3 3.5 mm connectors from my 5.1 system work fine with the N9. The speakers are also 9 years older than the phone. Occasionally the music will still play from the phone loudspeaker even though the kernel log clearly shows something :/ in the AV jack.

No need to believe any company’s marketing department before you try it yourself, I always say. :)

Its clear in the PDF manual
A wired connection doesnt allow Hands free calling , media controls or volume controls from the headset unless you connect to a Lumia.
All of these functions will work over bluetooth paired to an Symbian phone or N9 with A2DP.
Anything with a 3.5mm jack can play audio via the wired connection even an ipod.

350 is what Monster is getting for their own wireless high quality headphones, minus the NFC tag and and the bitchen colors. Expansive and well worth it to be sure.

LOL, Nokia trying really hard not to sell things again I see. The Price is NOT Right. Try again.

  • Mutumba

personally am only bothered by audio quality. If those things can make the 920 sound half like the N91, then am sold

is it really worth to buy? I dont know. Im used to sennheisser’s stuff, even they are not that much expensive.

  • Weirdfisher

Paying $350 for a monster is like paying $1000 for an N97

These are much better than the Beats by Dre shit.

I dropped my phone contract, bought the 920 without contract to save money for all these 2013 Nokia goodies. I’m glad I did as I save $70usd per month to now spend on Nokia.
