DSC02082India is an essential market for Nokia; however it seems the untimely launches and multiple delays of devices (the 620 being launched just this month) have taken a toll. The annual revenue from India alone last year was 2.27 Billion Euros, a 23% decrease compared to the 2.923 Billion Euros in 2011 (factor in Currency fluctuation as well).

Nokia’s cited the reason as due to increasing competition and currency fluctuation.

“The year 2012 was one of transition for Nokia. While the first half of the year was challenging, our execution against a focused business strategy started to translate into financial results in the final three months of the year,”

Hopefully with the upcoming launch of the Lumia 720 and 520 things will start to turn around.
