This is departing a little far from Nokia as this is no longer being demoed on a Nokia device, but the OS still has some connections with Nokia (Jolla, MeeGo).

It’s the first time I’ve seen Sailfish on a non-phone device. The Acer, previously a tablet with W7, is said to run Sailfish SDK emulator very smoothly (actually going to say it’s the smoothest he’s had – the best right now out of all the other OSes hes put on it).

This time, I’m running the Sailfish SDK simulator image on the Iconia tab. I reused the HW adaptation that I created for the Mer one, with some new additions, A kernel that supports Radeon, and the free Mesa driver, compiled for Radeon as well.

I got a lot of stuff for free, like touchscreen driver, wifi driver, accelerometer, and could finally touch Sailfish OS on real HW. And it is really really nice.

Thanks incognito for the tip!
