Nokia Pro Cam is Nokia’s advanced Camera App that was announced alongside the Lumia 1020 is said to be coming to the Lumia 92X series (920/925/928). However, if you’re like me, you don’t like waiting for things. If you currently have Amber on one of these devices (in fact any WP8 running Lumia Amber can run this – however if you’re using the 520 it will crash when you select the Front Camera), you can get the app installed, via a workaround (it won’t show up in the store just yet).

Take a look at a quick demo I recorded earlier of Pro Cam on the Lumia 925. You may also want to go have a read over at reddit (although we take no responsibility with what you may find there – or what you do with what you find). Reddit uses a method initially outlined here (Windows Blog Italia ) although the method I used was different.

Obviously, reframe won’t work the same as it does on the Lumia 1020, but boy are the real-time settings changes amazing! I’ve already made this my default camera after spending the last 6 weeks with Smart Cam as the default. Seeing how good the app is on the Lumia 925, I can only imagine how good it is on the Lumia 1020.

I love that you still have access to Lenses, and that if you set Pro Cam as the default camera, Smart Cam is provided as an available lens, which makes switching between the two very easy!
