Someone give Tim Cook some new glasses: Says Nokia ‘died’ because they didn’t innovate
According to TheVerge, Tim Cook has been bad mouthing Nokia, saying that Nokia is a reminder to everyone that when you don’t innovate, you die. Hmmm. Nokia innovates in design (which others are openly copying, hello colourful polycarbonate iPhones), in imaging (PureView, OIS), in mapping, Nokia’s software solutions have been copied again and again (double tap to wake? Always on screen?) N9 Swipe UI was regarded as revolutionary, not to mention super sensitive screen, CBD, super sunlight readability, wireless charging (yes not first in a Nokia but they’re the ones pushing to make it popular), antenna design and network solutions.
It’s not so much that Nokia didn’t innovate. The key word here is execution. Nokia has had so much potential and plenty of opportunities to break boundaries and get that to the masses, but their execution cripples that.
We have to admit, Apple did bring some innovation in touch screen. But what have they been doing recently?
This picture was on reddit: iPhone 5 users and how they see the iPhone 5s which has lots of things ‘borrowed’ from both Android and the flat WP.
Cheers Alvester for the tip!
