Nokia Normandy or Project N signalled what much of the blogosphere had been chanting for. An Android powered Nokia. Peter Skillman was apparently responsible for this project.

In the latest will they won’t they, rumours are now circulating that the project is cancelled according to ctechcn. Nokia will instead be focusing on ‘wearable technology’.

MS is said NOT to be the reason this was cancelled. The reasoning again was part of the original reason Nokia didn’t  go Android, ‘competition too fierce’. The Normandy project was under a part of Nokia that wasn’t transferring to MS. This suggests that even in the time that Nokia isn’t allowed to produce a phone under the Nokia brand, they won’t be ‘secretly’ developing an Android device either. Or at least this latest iteration.
